WIPO weighs in on brand protection for Blockchain Pioneers

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), international organization designed to promote the worldwide protection of both industrial property (inventions, trademarks, and designs) and copyrighted materials (literary, musical, photographic, and other artistic works)..

Groundbreaking precedence set in the Crypto industry as WIPO rules in favour of the protection of GSB, its products, services and brand, all surrounding and making up the ecosystem surrounding G999.

The cryptocurrency markets are still hugely volatile, and the blockchain technology is still in its infancy. This has created a melting pot of “start ups” and established corporates to carve out their respective niches.

Unfortunately, this “carving” is being done with the lawless swinging of Machetes on many public social media platforms by individuals motivated to win “at any expense”…and up until now this has been possible.

As long as someone has access to a social media soap-box and is motivated, fiscally, or otherwise, the price of cryptos and the success of projects has been, to some degree, determined by public sentiment. Often at the expense of the Truth, and too often hidden behind the curtain of Freedom of Speech…NOT ANYMORE.

A win for ALL blockchain projects…

This ruling by WIPO is a win for all blockchain based projects and crypto platforms, as it sets a legal precedence moving forward.

With governments and regulators being slow to move ahead in the adoption of Cryptos, many companies and projects have been left to “fend for themselves” in an environment of zero protection from the spread of defamation and disinformation.

With the mandate of WIPO being clear and trusted, and with the avalanche of IP being generated by the Blockchain industry, companies and projects now have a space and place to protect what is theirs.

A new age of RESPONSIBILTY of words is being heralded in…and this judgement allows for that.
